Week in sports

Three strokes -- you're out. After 264 weeks of holding number one, Tiger Woods has lost his ranking to Vijay Singh when he lost today by three. Some blame it on bad luck, others on his changing his form, or maybe just a lack of focus. I blame it on marriage.

So who is going to win the Heismen? Could it be White again? It is possible but highly doubtful. Jason White and Matt Leinart (of USC) were equally deserving last year. I am pretty sure the Heisman Committe will give it to Leinart. Although, I wish that they would give it to Cedric Benson of Texas. Benson had 15 carries for 181 yards and 2 TDs in a 65-0 win over North Texas this weekend.

The Yankees fuck up again. The Marlins couldn't make it to NYC to play because of the Hurricane. What do the Yankees request? They ask that the games be forfeited in their favor.

"The rule states that if your team is here and ready to play, and the other team isn't here and not ready to play, there should be a forfeit, and we believe there should be a forfeit," Yankees president Randy Levine said.

Classy Levine. In related news, I for once agree with something Bud Selik has to say, "Given the stage of the season we are in, and the exciting pennant races, it is critical that we do everything to decide the championship on the field." Amen.

The Pennant Race is getting hot. Everyone has to be excited about the A's/Red Sox series starting today. This is probably one of the more important ones of the year. I hope the A's take it all.
