Filthy junk mail

I've still got about 9 gmail invites to unload on people. I noticed that they are selling for pennies at Ebay. Did Google give out too many of these invites? Have they turned gmail invites into the equivalent of an AOL cd that comes in the mail?

I think Google's destroyed their own hype.
