Flight went well; there are 5 of us who are all supposed to meet up. When we got here I called Ben to make sure he was safely at my apartment and all. He is sticking around there for the a couple days; I think I'll head back on Sunday.
We are staying at the Excalibur because Maggie knows someone who works in their entertainment department. When we checked in I tried the $20 trick and managed to get us an upgrade! Who knew it actually worked? We laughed a lot and we're enjoying a little bit of a better room (the trick wasn't really all that much; it was just not the shit room we paid for). It's got a couple queen sized beds and a partial view of the strip!
Excalibur is cool because it is cheap, yet it is right by everything. We are a very short walk to Mandalay Bay, NY NY, Tropicana and MGM. This is a very nice corner to be on. You can now walk inside between Excalibur, Luxor and Mandalay Bay. It is
like one huge hotel. The walking inside is nice as things are pretty crowded and still sort of hot.
I have already done a little gambling at the Blackjack table. I turned my first $100 into $350! How's that for luck! We have found two of my friends who are here. They are staying in the Stratosphere...which is on the north end of the strip (BOO!). We all grabbed dinner at a prime rib place in MGM.
Tonight we're going to go to one of the craps table where I'll lay a little more on the line. Tomorrow the girls are going to go and do their own thing while some of us guys hang out and bet in some of the sports viewing rooms. NCAA. I'm going to take it all this weekend.
I think that Wayne Brady and David Copperfield are both having shows here too. There is rumor that we could get hooked up with some of the much desired tickets. Who would you rather see? I'm thinking Brady wins out in my book.
I'm being called to go down to the slots for a bit.
