Outside reality

Everyone knows that Justice Scalia is outside of the realm of reality. This latest quote only further suggests it...

"You think the death penalty is a good idea? Persuade your fellow citizens to adopt it. You want a right to abortion? Persuade your fellow citizens and enact it.

Of course, Bainbridge bows down before Scalia's feet like every other time he posts.

Let's backtrack a little and suggest the following course of action: "You think slavery is a bad idea? Persuade your fellow citizens to outlaw it."

Guess what idealists? Your assumptions are broke.

1) This fails to take into account Newton's first law of motion. Things tend to maintain their state.

2) This fails to take into account that you will never convince your neighbor of anything. By the time said individual is old enough to own/rent a home...s/he already has a pretty solid idea of where s/he stands.
