Buffalo Going to Make it Big?

Are my friends in Buffalo as excited about Liz Johnson, the professional bowler, as me?

Three Western New Yorkers were among the top 11 through 14 games of the PBA's Banquet Open at Wyoming, Mich. Buffalo's Tom Baker (3,262) was third, Lockport's Brad Angelo (3,238) was fourth, Cheektowaga's Liz Johnson 11th (3,151) and Buffalo's Joe Ciccone 45th (2,986). Baker trailed leader Patrick Allen of Tarrytown by 101 pins.

Not only is she a female bowler who kicks ass but she is a victory for female bowlers everywhere.

[She is] the first woman to advance to the championship round of a Professional Bowling Association event Saturday, beating Richard Wolfe in the quarterfinals of the PBA Banquet Open at Wyoming, Mich. Johnson, from Cheektowaga, N.Y., spent eight seasons with the Women's Professional Bowling Association and won the 1996 U.S. Open as a rookie.

Good times Buffalo!

Nope. We are too worried about, oh the shut down of the County and City :)

I did hear this though, kinda cool.

Those would be difficult problems to ignore in favor of the bowler.

I must confess that really the only time I'm excited about bowling is either when I'm going (rarely) or when I'm about to watch The Big Lebowski.

lol -

Wow look at buffalo catching all the fame and glory! :)

I did see the story on a local news channel - but didnt give it too much thought!

Big Lebowski is about as much bowling excitment as I can handle.
