Forget Factory Farms

Growing up in Kansas afforded me easy access to wheat fields, pastures, and farms with various animals like cows and chicken. It wasn't until I was in college that I realized how inhumane the treatment of most animals used for food are treated.

I think it's a step in the right direction that Burger King is going to start purchasing eggs from cage free hens and pork from cage free pigs. They won't be purchasing 100% of their products from these more organic ways but they are going to get the ball running.

I am more than willing to pay a little extra money to purchase animal products from sources where the animals are treated a little better before they are killed (hopefully in a more humane method).
