This isn't about faith, it's about making sure that science is taught. However, the creationists in Kansas want to make sure nothing is taught but their beliefs to students in Kansas. Thankfully there are many people who are willing to stand up and fight this nonsense.
As I've said before, I'm not going to be a part of a church that is so insecure with their own faith that they can't think outside their human (hence flawed) textualist analysis of the Bible. Just because the Bible doesn't spell out the particulars of possible evolution does not mean your faith is meaningless. Substituting ignorance because of fear is not the way to attract people to your fold.
