It might have been my slowest time ever on a 50K, but it wasn't my worst time. The course was much more difficult than any of the other races I have done, so I'll take my 7:27 with some pride. I was very bloated and dehydrated by the end as I didn't have enough sodium with my hydration. Lessons learned. Here I am finishing...

2007 Rocky Raccoon 50K

Earlier today, I ran and finished the Rocky Raccoon 50K in Huntsville, Texas. My time was a new PR of 5:57.26 (unofficial time). It was a lot of fun and I'm thankfully not very sore. If you want to see more, I have some more pictures if you click that picture.

Think I'm not running?

You should think again if you think I haven't been exploring my (temporary) new city on foot all of last week at this week. In fact, I think that I've logged about 13 miles of running on some trails this week alone.
I love the state park out here. First I went out there running by myself. I got lost. Then I went to it with a coworker to hike the other day. We both got lost. Ultimately I went out there with my running group. They led me in the right directions.
The moral of the story is that the environment around here kicks ass if you like trail running and camping. If you want some cool bars and lots of crappy chain stores/restaurants you might want to stay away.
