The major TV networks have announced what shows will be on next season and which are going to have to survive soley on DVD. I'll just highlight a few...
ABC has cancelled My Wife and Kids & 8 Simple Rules. I doubt that anyone really suspected that 8 Simple Rules would survive beyond this season. ABC will return with Desperate Housewives (I'm not sure if I'll be excited about it after the finale this evening), Grey's Anatomy (I believe to be an utterly lifeless show), Lost, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (I would think that they are running out of people who have had outrageous tragedies happen in their lives), Jake in Progress (why???) and George Lopez (again, why???).
CBS has axed Judging Amy, 60 Minutes 2, Listen Up (this is the sitcom based on Tony Kornheiser who is a wonderful sports writer), and Joan of Arcadia (good the first season but then started to go downhill). It will keep Two and a Half Men (somehow the highest rated sitcom), King of Queens (yawn), Survivor, and all the CSI shows.
NBC canceled the Contender, Third Watch, and American Dreams. They'll keep The West Wing, Joey (really?), The Apprentice, The Office (yes!), Scrubs, Medium, Las Vegas, and three of the Law & Order shows.
Fox is getting rid of a couple shows I don't know. They are returning with Arrested Development (horray!), The OC (eh), House, 24, The Simpsons, AI in January).
The WB has canceled Jack & Bobby and The Mountain. They will return with Blue Collar TV, Everwood, 7th Heaven, Gilmore Girls, and a few others.
UPN got rid of Kevin Hill and will return with WWE Smackdown.

Still sad about Jack and Bobby. :( Brilliant show. Just billiant.
I was upset that they cancelled Joan. Yes, it sucked this season, BUT the finale was great, what with the showdown between good and evil.
