The Hague and Kosovo

Today the PM of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj, has turned himself into The Hague. Haradinaj says,

Today I have been called upon to make a sacrifice, something I never believed would happen," he said in a statement. "This means also co-operation with international justice, however unjust it is.

Kosovo still has untold problems. It wasn't that long ago that many of us remember the atrocities that filled the front page of our daily news. This will be a big step towards the road to some sort of peace. Although, I don't know how it could ever come to a complete end.

I like this quote from the US representative to Kosovo,

Expressing his thanks to Haradinaj for resigning and going to The Hague voluntarily, Philip Goldberg, the US representative to Kosovo, said full cooperation with the war crimes court is "test of a society's commitment to the rule of law."

Yup.
