This article says that Roger Clements is going to play for Houston, while Carlos Delgado is pondering playing with the Rangers.
I'm going out on a limb here to say that Rogers isn't worth what he's going to be paid, and Delgado isn't pondering coming to Texas. I think that Delgado has decided he will play for Texas.
Here's the deal with Delgado. The Mets are saying that they want him, but they are only offering him 10 to 12 million. That's not going to be enough when you factor in living expenses in NYC. That would include the state and city taxes. Remember that Texas doesn't have a state level income tax. I think that Florida has also been trying to convince Delgado. Their big selling point is that they are closer to his home. Not for long though. Florida will probably be playing baseball in Las Vegas in the next two years.
Houston is paying way too much money for Roger Clements though. He's agreed to play if he could be the highest paid pitcher in the baseball league. Well for $18 million he got what he wished and will be getting back on the hill in Houston. He'll pitch well for Houston but at this cost it isn't a good thing.
