Multiple Choice

[Apple G5 1.6 or 1.8]

[Sony VIAO PCV-R530G]

[IBM IntelliStation Z Pro]

[Dell Dimension 4700]

I'm in need of a new desktop computer, and I think that these four (5 if you count the two types of Apple G5s) computers are the last ones standing. Any thoughts? I'm really leaning towards one of the Apple computers.

I'm a Linux guy, so I'd get one of the PCs and rip the Windows guts out of it. If you're not into that, and you're willing to part with the extra $$, get the Mac. I've got one of those right next to this box. Mac OS doesn't do everything the way I'd like, but it's a nice OS with a good interface, and has security you just won't find under Windows.
