Not in a Prison
One of the DA's wanted to have various hearings for cases involving felony indictments, not the actual trials, in a prison hearing room. I didn't think that this was correct under either the Texas Government code and the U.S. Constitution. Although it pissed off the prosecutor, the Judge agreed with our office after we had a conference meeting with him and the DA. Now our inmates can travel to a courthouse basement for their hearings in this particular county.
