Death Penalty Roundup: Around the States Edition

It's been a little while since I've posted an update on Death Penalty news from around the country. However, this form of punishment continues and the prosecutors keep pushing for it, so I shall post.

In Texas, prosecutors for the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office will seek the death penalty against a man accused of serial capital murder. Texas now has the option of life in prison instead of life with the possibility of parole.

In Florida, 70-year-old attorney and death penalty expert Ray Marky passed away. He helped put John Spenkelink and Ted Bundy in Florida's electric chair.

North Carolina, Bryron Waring is eligible for capital punishment for the murder of Lauren Redman. “An affidavit shows Redman owed George Sasser money and that Waring worked for Sasser. He may have gone to Redman's apartment to collect the debt.”
